In line with the preparation of the upcoming general cleaning and dry run of the newly upgraded machineries of the City Clustered Materials Recovery Facility, the City Government of Ligao headed by Mayor Patricia Gonzalez-Alsua, through the Pollution Control and Management Division Ecological Solid Waste Management Section, started to conduct the Special Operation on the final sorting and recovery of waste on 15 July 2017 at Bonga, Ligao City.

The City Clustered Materials Recovery Facility is the dropoff station for sorting, recycling and of waste materials. Its significance includes reduction of solid wastes, reuse of solid recyclables and recycling of organic wastes into organic fertilizers.

As the barangays serve as the focal unit in the implementation of a sustainable solid waste management program, the city government will continuously draw support and engage them to the policies and programs instituted towards a cleaner and healthier community.
