PROGRAMS
The City Health Unit also established the Tuberculosis-Directly Observed Treatment Short Course and public-private mix DOTS Program in order to combat Tuberculosis. Presently, 1,104 registered TB patients were cured, while 3,979 pneumonia cases were treated. Social Hygiene Clinic was also established to address STI cases in the city. At present, 163 cases of STI were examined, counseled and treated with free medicines provided by the LGU.
Another flagship program of the City Health Office is its mass blood donation, also dubbed as Citizen’s Lifeline Service. The program mainly addresses the problem on availability and adequate supply of safe blood. To date, there are 3,313 units of 500 cc blood collected from 663 donors every year. From the main purpose of collecting blood, the program had also established community involvement and volunteerism among citizens with its promotion and encouragement of donating blood.

There are 55 Barangay Health Centers stationed throughout the City intended to serve the remotest and farthest barangay in the City.
