Pinamaniquian was a former sitio of Barangay Bonga. The name of the barangay came from “Paniqui” meaning bats in the dialect. During the early days, it was said that there were so many bats in the area that it was called “Pinamaniquian” or where the bats dwell.
In the early 1950s, a certain Procopio Balonso, initiated the establishment of the sitio into a barrio.
A fiesta is celebrated every 11th day of February in honor of their patron saint, Our Lady of Lourdes.
Pinamaniquian is an upland barangay in the City of Ligao, 3rd District of Albay. Bounded on the East by the Municipality of Guinobatan; on the West by Barangay Pandan; on the North by Barangay Bonga; and on the south by Banao, Guinobatan Albay.
It has a total land area of 400.7 hectares (has). Its terrain is mountainous. It has a distance of about 5kms from the town proper. Has a tropical climate. Heavy rainfall occurs during the months of June to November and the dry season is from the month of January to May.
The barangay is classified as upland and has a population of 1,861 where 950 are male and 911 are female and has a total number of households of 426 .It has an average household size of 4. Major source of livelihood is Coconut farming and vegetable farming.
Fiesta is celebrated every 28th of August in Honor of their Patron Saint, San Agustin.
Educational Health and Service Facilities
Pinamaniquian has two (2) Day Care Centers which are supervised by skilled Day Care Workers, and one (1) public elementary school which caters the primary and intermediate pupils, all are under the supervision of Department of Education (DepEd) schools district.
The barangay has one (1) health center manned by three (3) barangay health workers and one (1) barangay nutrition scholar assigned to take charge in the implementation and monitoring of various health programs and services such as maternal and health care which includes family planning, nutrition, and immunization of children below five (5) years old, one (1) Utility Worker. Other service facilities include Multi-Purpose Hall, Barangay Outpost and Barangay Hall.
Mode of Public Transportation
In Barangay Pinamaniquian, the modes of transportation are Tricycle and motorcycle (habal-habal).

Water & Electric Supply
One Hundred Twenty Five (125) households or 29.3% has no access to potable drinking water. Residents get their source from Shared tube/piped deep well, protected spring, and Water Peddler. Electricity for the barangay is provided by Albay Power and Energy Corporation (APEC).
372 households or 87.32% of the total households from the barangay is practicing burning of garbage. The barangay is on its process of enhancing its capacity in implementing the RA 9003. They are on the process on implementation of various environmental ordinances as well as currently practicing the “segregation at source” and have established their own material recovery facility.
Peace and Order
There are fifteen (15) Male Barangay Tanods appointed by the Punong Barangay who maintain the stable peace and order situation by conducting a nightly patrol. They are receiving monthly honorarium from the barangay budget.
